Frequently Asked
Questions

What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive component of the hemp plant. CBD
is well known for its substantial therapeutic potential, as well as its anti
inflammatory, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant qualities. CBD has
been researched extensively and has been studied for its' effects on chronic
pain, insomnia, PTSD, anxiety, epilepsy, dementia, and more. CBD has been
found to aid in these conditions and more, so much so that the FDA approved
CBD for one drug in 2018 for the treatment of severe forms of epilepsy. This
is the only FDA approved CBD product on the market at this time.

How does CBD work?
CBD primarily interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a grouping
of millions of cannabinoid receptors found throughout your body, but are
primarily clustered in the brain and central nervous system. While CBD is a
phytocannabinoid, or plant-based cannabinoid, your body also naturally
produces cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids. Almost every organ of
your body, including your skin and digestive tract, contains cannabinoid receptors.

Unlike THC, CBD does not interact strongly with the two classical cannabinoid
receptors (CB1 and CB2). This is why CBD does not cause any psychoactive
effect. Instead, CBD inhibits the enzymes that break down endocannabinoids,
leading to an increase in your body’s naturally-produced cannabinoids.

Will CBD get me high?
No, CBD will not get you high. It’s non-intoxicating and non-psychoactive.
In fact, CBD is antagonistic to the marijuana high; some research expresses its'
potential to prevent THC molecules from binding to the brain’s receptors (hence the
reason why it’s often used to subdue the ‘paranoia’ effects of super-potent THC strains).

Are CBD products legal in all 50 states?
Yes, as long as they are derived from hemp, not marijuana, and contain less
than 0.3% THC. No medical marijuana card is required to buy or use hemp
derived CBD products.

Will CBD extract influence results of a drug test?
Most drug tests screen for the psychoactive compound THC, not cannabidiol
(CBD). However, full-spectrum hemp extracts may contain trace amounts of
THC, which could cause a positive result when screening urine and blood
specimens, especially when taken at high doses. I recommend a prudent and cautious
approach to taking CBD-rich hemp extracts in the context of urine drug screenings.

What is the right dosage of CBD?
An effective dosage can range from as little as a 5mg of CBD per day up to
150mg per day. It is important to start low, taking a few small doses over the
course of the day rather than one big dose. Use the same dose for several days
and observe the effects. If necessary, adjust the amount.
